Perlane is one of several injectable fillers we use to provide volume to the face. Because Perlane has a thicker consistency and uses larger particles of hyaluronic acid (HA) than those found in Restylane and Juvederm, it is well suited for providing increased volume to creases and other dermal areas that have greatly thinned out over time. Perlane is commonly used in the nasolabial folds (or “laugh lines” that extend from the sides of the nose to the corners of the mouth) and it is also used for providing depth to hollow cheeks in the mid-face region.

Perlane Treatment Before & After Pictures
During treatment, we inject Perlane into the treatment area using a very fine syringe. Perlane has a thicker consistency and is not as easily injected as Juvederm or Restylane, so the chance for bruising is increased. After effects of Perlane treatment may include temporary mild swelling, but this swelling normally subsides in a period of days. Perlane is FDA approved for up to one full year, however based on our usage of Perlane we see results that generally last for approximately six to nine months.
Juvederm is made of Hyaluronic acid (HA), a naturally occuring compound in the body. Hyaluronic acid has a unique ability to absorb 1,000 times it's weight in water. For this reason, Juvederm is able to fill and plump up folds and creases in the face (or even lips) because of it's ability to absorb so much water.
