We combine different lasers with photodynamic therapy and traditional medical skin care products, and have developed several programs so that patients have options for price, number of treatments and lifestyle. We are passionate about finding the right treatment plan for every one of our acne patients. Although there is currently no cure for acne, we have spent years to developing several effective combinations of laser treatments, chemical peels and products, and 80% of our acne patients are satisfied with our treatment programs.

During the initial phase of the acne treatment program, we use intense light energy from lasers to destroy the P.acnes bacteria that causes active lesions. In the second phase of the program (preventative phase), we shrink the sebaceous (oil-producing) glands using lasers, photodynamic therapy or the two in conjunction. This phase causes the glands to produce less oil, limiting future outbreaks and reducing the overall size of the pores.

There are several methodologies for shrinking the sebaceous glands with lasers. One of these methodologies is Photodynamic Therapy (PDT). In Photodynamic Therapy for acne, a photosensitizing medication called Aminolevulinic acid is absorbed into the pores of the skin to more precisely target laser energy in the oil- producing glands.

Along with the use of acne laser treatments, our medical staff will prescribe a topical acne skin care regimen using pharmaceutical-grade medical products, and include periodic chemical peels as part of the treatment program to ensure proper cleansing and exfoliation during the treatment process. We provide our acne patients with a pH-balanced acne cleanser, renewal (exfoliation) cream, moisturizer, and oil free sunscreen to ensure that their skin has adequate protection, cell turnover, and hydration to further reduce acne.
